Floor heating with Alson heating foils
Alson floor heating foils are mainly suitable for wooden floors. They are very easy to install. Because the surface temperature of the foils is low, they can also be installed in a parquet floor.
Alson Floor Heating FoilsThe heating element of an Alson heating foil is a thin metallic foil that is tightly laminated between two plastic foils. There are fixing areas between the resistive modules and at both sides of a foil. |

Operating PrincipleAlson heating foils are installed between the floor covering and floor thermal insulation. An air gap must remain between the foil and floor material. The heating energy is transferred from the foil to the floor and from there evenly into the room. |

Heating SolutionsDifferent combinations of ceiling and floor heating can be applied in a private home. Have a look at some solutions. |

Floor ConstructionsAlson floor heating can be installed in the bottom floor or in any of the upper floors. Have a look at some construction drawings. |

Choosing the FoilsIn a well insulated building app. 20...25 W/m2 is required. The foils with a power of 90 W/m2 are designed for rooms, where floor heating is the only source of heating. The foils with a power of 60 W/m2 are designed for comfort heating (to keep the floor war) in a room heated normally with another heating system. An air gap must remain between the foil and floor material - see table below: Lämmityselementin ja lattian pintamateriaalin väliin tulee jättää ilmarako. Ilmaraon korkeus valitaan elementin pintatehon ja lattian lämpövastuksen perusteella alla olevan taulukon mukaan: |

60 90 90 |

A thermal resistance of 1,08 m2°K/W is equal to that of a floor construction consisting of 28 mm chipboard, 30 mm parquet and a 20 mm carpet. |

Positioning the FoilsCalculate the required heating power separately for each room and choose the heating foils accordingly. Choose the foil width (40 or 60 cm) according to the floor construction - consult your architect or contractor. The foils should cover the floor as evenly as possible. It is of uttermost importance that there are heating foils immediately next to external walls. It is easier to connect the foils to the thermostat if they are placed so that their end are on the same line. Do not place heating foils under cupboards or other fixed constructions because these prevent the transfer of heating energy into the room. See an example house with Alson floor heating. |

Installing the FoilsHave a look at the Installation Guide that describes the mains phases of the installation. You will notice that the installation is really easy and fast! Note that electrical connections must be made by an authorized contractor. |

|
Control Floor heating is controlled with a floor thermostat that measures the floor temperature. If also ceiling heating is used, the best result is achieved with a combination thermostat, which measures also the ambient temperature. |
