Jatkuvatoiminen lattialämmitys Effy-lämpömatoilla
Self-regulating Effy heating mats are specially designed for heating of wooden floors.
The thickness of the Effy mat is only 2 mm, which means that the elevation of the floor level remains negligible. The mat is delivered as a roll - strips of desired length can easily be cut and installed.
Operating Principle
The effective part of the Effy mat is a thin conductive foil laminated between two protective plastic foils. Copper wires that are fixed on both sides of the foil are connected to mains power, causing electric current through the foil between the wires. The resistance of the foil varies according to the temperature: when the temperature falls, the foil resistance decreases, which increases the electric current through the mat - the heating power grows. Similarly, the foil resistance grows with rising temperatures, thus causing lower heating power. The mat protects itself and the floor covering against overheating.
The heating energy is transferred from the foil to the floor covering, which emits the energy partly directly to the air in the room and partly as radiant heat to the walls and furniture, of which the energy moves further into the ambient air.
InstallationEffy heating mat is delivered as a 390 mm wide roll, of which strips of desired leghth (max. 15 m) can be cut. The total length of strips that are connected together must not exceed 50 m. A layer of cardboard should be first laid on the concrete floor to protect the heating mat. Then spread out the mat strips side by side so that the whole floor is covered.
The copper wires at the brims of the mat strips are then connected to mains power cords according to the Installation Guide. Both ends of each strip are isoleted with tape. Note that all electric connections must be done by an authorized electrician according to local regulations. When all connections are done, the heating mats are covered with an even layer of cushion board to protect the mats during the installation of the floor covering. Finally, the floor covering is installed directly on the cushion board. Do not nail or screw through the mats! Best result is achieved, when the floor covering (boards or laminate strips) and the heating mats are at right angles to each other. Particular information can be foulnd in the Installation Guide (pdf file)..
Control
Effy floor heating is controlled with a floor thermostat. If also ceiling heating is used, the best result is achieved with a combination thermostat, which measures also the ambient temperature. Open BrochureOpen and print the brochure "Effy Floor Heating". |
